This term at GHA has been one of creative learning, new experiences and practising familiar skills. As always, we have been very busy! The children were delighted by a visit from firefighters and their fire engine – this linked to topic learning and also learning about safety at home and at Bonfire Night celebrations. A local farmer’s tractor also rumbled into school – we even got a chance to climb into the tractor driver’s seat! Alongside these memorable experiences, swimming and tennis lessons continue and a visiting coach gave the chance to develop table cricket skills. The children continued to develop engagement, anticipation, and joint attention through highly motivating sessions, as well as hearing and using topic vocabulary and knowledge.
Some children also visited a secondary school who were hosting a School Games Panathlon – we took part in team games including parachute activities, kurling and kinball.
Finally, a big thank you to Wates Construction, who have now completed all sections of the building project—their hard work has helped create a wonderful, accessible additional space at GHA.
