Dear Parents & Carers,

The council has published an update to its school and college transport guidance for parents and carers ahead of the reopening of all schools in September. The updated guidance can be found at :

Important Education Transport Information

The education transport network will operate in full from 8 March 2021 for all eligible children. This should only be used where absolutely necessary to reduce interactions between pupils. Please encourage parents to transport their children to school or college wherever possible.

The Council has updated its information page for parents and carers. Please visit for more information.

Please encourage pupils to maintain social distancing, wear a face covering and follow all other infection prevention control measures wherever possible on education transport. The latest government guidance states that any pupil displaying coronavirus symptoms, or who has had a positive test, while at school should NOT use public or dedicated school transport. Pupils should be collected by a member of their family or household. If this is not possible, the guidance advises that alternative arrangements may need to be made by the school. The Council may be able to help source a suitable vehicle but this cannot be guaranteed.

Please see the attachment below regarding a letter distributed from the NHS about Test & Trace and information to help parents when their child is ill.
