Fairtrade Day!

To mark Fairtrade Day children at GHA explored the meaning and importance of Fairtrade.

They learned how Fairtrade helps farmers and workers get a fair price for their products. Children examined food packaging to find the Fairtrade mark and took part in a taste test of Fairtrade treats including bananas, Maltesers, hot chocolate and rice cakes, encouraging them to think about where their food comes from and how their choices can make a difference.

Article 27 – Every child has the right to a standard of living adequate for their physical, mental, spiritual, moral and social development. Learning about Fairtrade supports children in understanding how fair working conditions and equitable trade practices contribute to this right for all.
