Children or Young People with Covid-19 Symptoms on School Transport

Lincolnshire County Council School Transport team have been made aware by some transport providers that they have been asked to transport children home from school that have coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms. As a reminder, the Council's position is that if a child presents at school with coronavirus symptoms or becomes unwell during a school day, parents and carers must arrange for their collection from school or college. Dedicated school transport or public transport should not be used.

We appreciate this is difficult if parents/carers are unable to drive or collect a child. In this instance if schools or parents need to arrange a taxi for example, we expect full disclosure is given to any company. The Council cannot pay for any transportation.

The position above applies for any child that still presents at school despite them being advised to self-isolate.

Thank you for your support in this.
