Friends Club and Sports Club

Friends Club

Friends Club at Gosberton House Academy runs on most  Wednesday evenings throughout the school year from 3pm to 4.30 pm. Sessions are led by Miss Wilson..

At Friends Club children are able to relax and play with peers from across the school.During the sessions the children are given opportunities to practice social skills, share books, use the computers, access outdoor play areas, explore role play toys as well as creative activities. We are very lucky to also welcome visitors to our friends club such as musicians and sports instructors. During the sessions children are also provided with a snack and a drink, building on social relationships and helping each other. We provide foods for children with dietary requirements but children may bring their own if they wish.We hope that you will be able to continue to support our Friends Club as our children really do enjoy their after school activities. If you would like your child to attend please contact the school.

After School Sports Club

The After School Sports Club is held on most Tuesday evenings from 3.15 to 4.30. Mr Nolan from Agilitas organises the events for the children and is supported by Miss Newton, Miss Howling and Mr Richardson. Each week, Mr Nolan selects a theme. The children enjoy a range of sports including football, basket ball, volley ball, hockey, cricket, tag rugby and athletics. The lessons begin with a warm up. This is followed by the teaching of specific skills associated with that given event. The children then have a cool down which mostly involves the use of the parachute.

There is currently no charge for this wonderful provision but places will be limited to 12 so please be prompt with returning the forms as places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Such a club as this complements the existing PE curriculum. Children enjoy learning with their friends from across the school. Also staff benefit from working with the expert coaching experience from Mr Nolan.
