Your Communities Team
During June and July we have been running activity days for sheltered housing residents. The first day of outdoor activities included live music from Amber Sinclair, followed by a seated keep fit session. The second day of activities included a nine hole crazy golf course, inflatable ten pin blowing alley, target bowls and the opportunity for residents to chat and get together outside in a covid-safe way. 

 

 

 

 

Summer Fun Listings 
Summer fun listings are complied by the Communities Team to showcase the range of leisure and cultural opportunities available for children, young people and families over the summer holidays in South Holland. 
 
The activities can be found online on the South Holland District Council website and are listed in date order. There are many types of activities taking place including: arts and crafts, music and sport.

South Holland Outdoor Festival 2021
The South Holland Outdoor Festival will run throughout August and offers a range of free events that are taking place throughout the district. Events include; community picnics, walks, taster sessions and themed trails. The launch event will take place at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field, Spalding on Sunday 1st August 11:30-3:00. Join us for a relaxing day with live music, craft area, circus skills workshop and outdoor games to play.

Steps2Change

Steps2change provides talking therapies for people 16 years and older experiencing problems with anxiety, depression, stress, and offers help with issues like bereavement or the impact of a traumatic event.

Employment Advisors are available to support people with work related concerns.

If you feel that you would like to access talking therapies you don't need to make an appointment with your GP or healthcare professional. You can self-refer to the service by:

 

NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme 
Individuals can refer themselves onto the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme until 31st September 2021. This can be done by using either the 'Know Your Risk' tool or filling out the self referral form. More details below.

 

 

YMCA Lincolnshire - Barclays Covid19 Community Aid Funds
YMCA Lincolnshire are able to allocate more funds into their 'hardship funds provision', enabling them to support more people across the county with identified crisis needs. To apply there is a form (which can be found here) where full details of what is intended to be purchased need to be included. They are looking to close the fund in August.

Lincolnshire CVS Arts and Heritage Forum 

Lincolnshire CVS are hosting an Arts and Heritage forum on Friday 23rd July at 14:00, for community groups and organisations working in these sectors. 

Organisations will learn about funding opportunities from Jill Brown (Relationship Manger at Arts Council England), share updates about their work and discuss pressing issues in the sector.

Lincolnshire CVS 6 Week Funding Ready Programme  

Lincolnshire CVS' free 6 Week Funding Ready Programme consists of 6 workshops and Toolkit to help organisations get funding ready. 
The workshops will cover:

  • Getting your organisation/project ready for grant funding 
  • Researching your beneficiaries 
  • Evidencing Need
  • Funding Sources 
  • Proving outcomes 
  • Writing a successful bid 

The course starts on Monday 6 September 2021 - you can book here 

 

2022 GSK Impact Awards 
Applications are open for the 2022 GSK Impact Awards. 
 

The GSK Impact Awards provide core funding and free training for charities doing excellent work to improve people’s health and wellbeing. Up to 20 awards will be made, ranging from £4,000 to £50,000, plus free training and development valued at a further £9,500. Organisations will also have a film made, receive help with press and publicity, and be given a set of promotional materials.

The GSK Grow Programme has also been launched to support charities charities with total annual income between £20,000 and £120,000. Up to 10 charities will receive £10,000 in unrestricted funding plus training and development valued at £3,200.

Managed Care Network (MCN) Wave 11 Funding

The Managed Care Network is an alliance of county-wide community groups and organisations delivering a variety of support activities, services and projects which provide people with structure and choice in their lives contributing to individuals' emotional wellbeing within their own community.

The funding aims to support people to live independently in their own homes and communities with access to a range of activities and services that promotes outcomes such as reduced social isolation, a safe non-judgemental space to support recovery and promote good mental health. 

 

The application period will open on Monday 19th July for 5 weeks.

They are holding information sessions to share all the information groups & organisations will need to make a successful application.

All sessions will be via MS Teams:

Friday 23rd July: 9am-10am

Monday 2nd August: 10-11am

Monday 9th August: 3-4pm

Safe and Well Check Referral Form
The Fire service have launched a new online referral form for professionals to refer individuals for a safe and well check.

Ørsted’s East Coast Community Fund

Since 2016, 135 local projects, community groups and charities have been awarded a share of over £2 million from the Ørsted East Coast Community Fund. 

This milestone comes as 14  local organisations are have been awarded grants from the ninth round of the Fund.

The East Coast Community Fund is part of the community engagement programme for Ørsted’s Hornsea and Race Bank offshore wind farms. Each year, until 2037, approximately £390,000 will be available from the main fund to support a wide range of community and environmental projects.

Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund 
The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund are the leading welfare charity supporting current and former members of the RAF, their partners and families. They provide practical, emotional and financial support. They consider all requests for assistance and provide a tailor made approach to each individual situation. They offer support in many aspects including: Friendship and Connections, Emotional Wellbeing, Advice and Advocacy and Financial Assistance.
