 March 2016 Update

It is expected that all schools will convert to academies by 2020. During the Spring Terms the governors researched and discussed the best way forward for our school. We want to make sure that any decision is in the best interests of the children. We would very much like to hear your views on this. Included in the School Newsletter is an invitation to a Consultation Meeting at the school on Monday April 18th at 6pm. Or you can put your views in writing by email or letter if you prefer. I really hope you will take this opportunity to help us secure the future of our excellent school; it is a precious resource.

May 2016 Update

Term 5 has involved a lot of work around Academy Status. We had a consultation meeting on 18 April, attended by Andy Breckon, Chief Executive Officer of the Lincolnshire Educational Trust Ltd. Information slides from that meeting have been posted on the school website (see School Information - Parent Page). We’ve now received our ‘Academy Order’ from the Department of Education (available as a download). This means that in principle the DfE have agreed to GHS becoming an academy, subject to the necessary consultation and legal work. It is such an important decision for the school and I urge you all to get involved. Do have a look at the slides, ask questions, send us your views. Remember, we’re in this together!
